The Petition :
"Traditional media and now social media play an unsavory role in exploiting child victims and inflicting secondary victimization on their family members during, what it is unequivocally, the very worst moment in their lives. The damage this causes is far reaching and lasts many decades after the traumatic event, not only for the victims of crimes and their families, but also for the communities who pay for the wide range of public services that go towards investigating & solving the crime, as well as treating the lasting psychological aftermath and even punishing the perpetrator."

These are just a few of the issues that social media giants have not made restrictions for enforcement. We believe that any missing child case connected to an Amber Alert must have such restrictions of protection for the Missing Child as well as the Child's Family. This will also assist the Families to know the perimeters they must also stay in when using social media. Without restraint, all parties from the Families to the Social Media Creators are vulnerable in what is communicated.
This is just a beginning.
